Liberty Healthcare Corporation announced on January 16, 2015, @ 5:01 PM EST that the Indiana Department of Correction’s Sex Offender Management and Monitoring (INSOMM) Program, managed in partnership with their affiliate company Liberty Behavioral Health Corporation, was awarded “Program of the Year” by the Indiana Criminal Justice Association (ICJA).

The press release from Business Wire stated the INSOMM program provides a continuum of sex offender-specific risk assessment, treatment, and community management services for men, women, and adolescents. Its mission is to enhance public safety by reducing sex offenses. In its fifteenth year of operation, INSOMM has helped to keep Indiana’s sex offense recidivism rate among the lowest in the country.

The program delivers specialized risk assessment and treatment to offenders during incarceration and then requires follow-up treatment and community monitoring after they are released on parole.

IDOC Commissioner Bruce Lemmon said, “The INSOMM program is a public/private partnership with a strong track record of contributing to the safety of all Hoosiers. IDOC is proud to share this recognition with Dr. Deming and his team.”
